Welcome to the Blackpalfrey Motor Club’s first-ever Daytime Scatter Rally!

If you are looking for a low-cost, incredibly fun introduction to motorsport, you are in the right place. You don't need a specially prepared race car or expensive equipment—your everyday road car, a smartphone, and a sense of direction are all it takes to get involved.
 

• Date: Sunday, 26th July 2026

• Time: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM (Please arrive 1 hour early for signing on)

• Start & Finish: The Grove Ferry Inn, Upstreet, near Canterbury

• Entry Fee: £25 per crew (Includes a £5 donation to the Kent Wildlife Trust as part of our carbon offset initiative)
   

Think of a Scatter Rally as a strategic step up from a traditional treasure hunt. At the start, you will be handed a clue sheet and an OS map printout. This specific event utilizes what3words, making it highly accessible for both complete beginners and seasoned navigators.

You will use the what3words app to plot your locations, work out the most efficient route, and hunt down the answers. There is no set route and it is not a speed event—the strategy lies in planning the smartest loop to gather the most points before heading back to the pub for a social finish. Because it's a daytime event, it is also a perfect family day out.
 

What You Need to Enter:

1. A Crew: A driver (with a full driving license) and a navigator.

2. An MSUK License: Both crew members need a Motorsport UK RS Clubman License. These are completely free and can be obtained instantly online.

3. The Kit: A road-legal car, a smartphone with the what3words app, a clipboard, pens/pencils, and a torch.
