🏁 Blackpalfrey Scatter Rally – Powered by ///what3words 🏁

Blackpalfrey Motor Club, in association with MSUK StreetCar, invites you to take part in a brand-new style of evening navigation challenge — the ///what3words Scatter Rally! Whether you’re new to motorsport or an experienced hand, this event is designed to be fun, social, and accessible to all.

  • Date: Friday 7th November 2025

  • Start: Park Gate Inn, A20, Hollingbourne

    • Return by 22:00 sharp!

🗺️ How it Works:

  • Each crew receives:

    • An A4 extract of OS Map 188

    • A clue/answer sheet with locations given in ///what3words and 4-figure grid references

  • Plot the locations, plan your route, and head out whenever you’re ready after 20:00!

  • Visit as many clue locations as you can before the 22:00 finish.

  • Clues can be tackled in any order — it’s your strategy that counts!

🏆 Scoring:

  • 2 points per correct clue answer

  • A maximum of 18 locations count (36 points total)

  • 1 point deducted per full minute late (up to 15 minutes)

  • Over 22:15 = excluded

🧭 What to Bring:

  • A smartphone with the ///what3words app installed

  • Clipboard or something to lean on

  • Pencil, eraser, pen

  • Head torch & good hand torch

  • Sensible footwear (some clues may be on foot, possibly muddy!)

🎟️ Entry Information:

  • Open to a maximum of 25 crews

  • Both Driver and Navigator will need a free MSUK RS Clubman Licence

🚗 Who Can Enter?

  • Novices: A brilliant first step into road rallying — no tricky navigation required.

  • Experts: A fresh challenge with a new format, perfect for sharpening your skills.

This is the first event of its kind, using the ///what3words app as the main navigation format. It promises to be a night of teamwork, puzzles, and plenty of laughs.

The Blackpalfrey Motor Club was formed in 1965, by a group of rally enthusiasts, as an amalgamation of the Black Horse (a Public House) Car Club from Tunbridge Wells and the William Palfrey Limited (an engineering company) Car Club from Rochester.
