Congratulations go to Dave Hughes and Dick Athow in the Dolomite , who deserve the win in any event as they were the only Crew to find Reg A TP 03. My apologies again for the error in the Tulips (13.06) which had you all heading to Greenhill in error. I can only say well done to those who got back on track and made TP 04. For the Novices this was a difficult section and a tough lesson to learn.

Reg B was more satisfying I believe with decent numbers all round and I hope there was a little more fun for all, with decent weather. I think the Route Check items were well received and the Code Board positions not too challenging.

A special mention to Norman and Keith whose Golf gave up the ghost on Saturday but made the effort to “kit out” the little Citroen C1 and still make the event. Also, to Dave and Linda in the Volvo Amazon, as Novices since they ended up knocking on the door of a podium place. Well done everyone.

My sincere thanks go  to our marshals, who did a fantastic job finding and managing their posts and keeping everything running smoothly. Such events would simply not be possible without their volunteer commitment.  – Do bear in mind If you cannot make future events due to c-driver absence please, like Mark Watson, consider joining us in a Marshalling role.

WRT Reg A TP 04 The explanation for the Zero after a missed TC is best described as follows:-

“ For those of you who missed one Time Control but got to the next one. As you did not visit that first of those TC’s you did not have a time recorded to start the next section. Consequently, you cannot be penalised at the next TC as we don’t know how long it took you to get from one to the other. The result of this is that you get a penalty of 200 for missing the first one, and Zero for the subsequent TC. “

FINALLY  -

Thank you all for joining and supporting the Club and I look forward to participating myself a few more times before I venture into organising another – Lots of lessons learned !!!!
